A Ruined City
This was once a city of beauty and happiness. You could walk down the street and people would smile at you. But now it is gone. Dead bodies, bodies of the people who you'd pass on the sidewalk lie floating in the water. The water that filled slowly in the street, the water that creeped up your ankles. The water that now covers the city. The water that slowly filled your house, and you knew you were doomed. The water that pooled up over your waist, your children in your arms, holding on for your lives. The water that slowly covered your neck as you fought to climb higher with no avail. The water that started to fill up your lungs as you knew you were dying. You gave up your hope.
Tonight, you died, drowned in your attic, as the city that once was your home washed away.
In memory of those who died in the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. You will be missed.

This is more of a poem than a story.

Thanks, Lil. That really means a lot.
Yes, I know it's more of a poem, but it doesn't really have a rhythm or anything, no pattern.

EXCUSE ME!!! POEMS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE PATTERNS OR RYTHYM!!! DON'T EVER SAY THAT AGAIN!!! J/K Not about the rythyn and power thing but about being angry. It just isn't that way.
