Chapter 1
The wind blew softly across the moonlit moor. The sound of hooves beating on the half frozen ground echoed off the surrounding hills. The moon full and bright cast its beautiful light across the darkened moor, lighting the rider’s way. Suddenly the rider stops, looks around and throws back the hood of the dark velvet cloak they are wearing, revealing long black hair, with a touch of red, deep hazel eyes with a splash of green and red scarlet cheeks from the late night weather. Clear but softly the young women called out, “Michael?” Up ahead about a hundred yards to her left, a small light appeared almost beckoning for her to follow. Like a bolt of lighting she turned her chestnut mare towards the light. As she got closer the image of an older man came in to view. He looked about sixty-five to seventy years old.
He was dressed in a pair of dark brown pants and a green tunic, with shoulder length hair that was almost white as snow; He had dark blue eyes and a kind smile. “Lady Elaine? By the Saints! Child, what are you doing out here in the dead of night and so far away from the castle? You should get back before anyone notices your missing.” The old man helped Elaine off her horse and handed the reins to another person who had appeared out of the night and led her towards a group of tents. “Please, Samual, I must speak to Lord Michael,” explained Elaine, slightly shaking from the cold wind and fear from all the stares she was getting by the men that where coming out of their tents. “My Lady, the Lord does not wish to be interrupted tonight, he is getting ready for tomorrow’s tournament.”
The tournament was being held to find worthy knights to fight along side the king. Elaine and her twin sister, Josephine has put up a kiss to the winner of each contest. All the men and older boys will be able to take part. There would be sword fighting, jousting and archery.
By now they had reached a large tent that was put on a platform so it could look over the rest of the tents. “Oh, Samual, I must speak with him! Something has happened and I need to straighten things out so no bad luck will come on our wedding day! My twin sister Josephine has it out for me! Just today when Michael came to see me, she tied me up in the South tower and took my place. See I still have the markings! , She held up both wrists, which were black and blue."I didn’t know what to do! I screamed, kicked, bit, I did everything to get free but it was to late, he left before I could tell him it wasn’t me.”
As she put her face in her hands, the came a women's voice. " Well, Samual, did you bring another Bitch to be mounted by his Lord? She is a pretty little thing. Don't worry, Little One, His Lordship.....
*That is as far as I have gotten so far.. I am having massive writer's block! AHHHHHHH*
